Recently my father figure told me that
I put too much emphasis on plus-size beauty
and while I do agree that four days out of the week
I do find myself to be rather cute.
I do not believe it is because I am plus size.
Sure it gives me more obvious curves,
but that is not what I believe makes me beautiful.
I believe I am pretty because of the way I carry myself
and the confidence that shows through me.
Even during the times, I don't actually have it,
I've made it a habit to let self-assurance exude from me,
because let's be honest,
I have always been the type to fake it until I make it.
On this journey of finding acceptance with my body
the best words I've seen on the matter is
"You are not fat, you have fat; you also have fingernails,
but you are not fingernails".
but you are not fingernails".
I do not wish to be called beautiful because of the weight I carry
but because I don't let my weight carry my worth.
Remember, Confidence is Key,
and your worth is so much greater than your weight.
